Embracing the Shadow
Not another AI chatbot. A fifty-minute session in the tradition of Jungian analytical psychology — where you do not receive answers, but learn to sit with your own.

What it actually feels like
The Jungian AI does not interpret your inner life for you. It holds the question with you, in the spirit of "perhaps it could be ~?" — the way an analyst sits beside the unconscious, never above it. Below is a short fragment from a fifty-minute session (illustrative).
There's been a heaviness lately. Nothing big has happened, but it won't lift.
Where does that heaviness rest in the body — chest, shoulders, somewhere else?
In my chest. A kind of tightness.
Tightness is sometimes the body's way of holding words that haven't yet been spoken. Is there something recent you didn't say — that you can sense, even faintly? No need to rush.
…There was something a friend said a few days ago. I laughed it off at the time. It keeps coming back.
In the place where you laughed, there may have been a feeling waiting to be met. Only as much as comes.
…I think I was hurt. I think I wanted to be seen.
You met that part of yourself just now. For today, simply staying with it is enough.
We do not give you answers.
We become the mirror in which you meet yourself —
through hypothesis, through pause, through Jungian attention.
If the conversation reaches you, here is the way in
Three steps. No more.

Before you sit down
🕒 Fifty minutes, uninterrupted
The session cannot be paused. Choose a time when nothing — the door, the phone, the next appointment — will need you.
🎧 A quiet space
Headphones are recommended for voice mode. Text-only sessions work just as well.
💬 Honesty becomes the work
Conversations are stored with AES-256 column encryption. Even the administrators do not see them. Stay without self-censoring.
Different from a general AI conversation
General-purpose AI is built for fast answers. This is built for a different kind of work.
| General AI | Embracing the Shadow |
|---|---|
| Resolution-oriented, quick reply | Stay-oriented, slow attention |
| Each conversation begins fresh — no memory | Memory accumulates — each session builds on the last |
| General knowledge model | Grounded in Jungian analytical psychology |
| No temporal frame | Clinical fifty-minute structure (opening · main work · integration) |
| Possible use of conversations for model training | AES-256 encrypted at rest · never used for training |
On a day when you need a fast answer, please use a different tool.
On a day when you need to stay long enough to meet yourself, this is the place.
How a Shadow session unfolds
We follow the Jungian method of shadow projection — beginning from the insight that the person who irritates you most is often the most accurate mirror.
Opening (0–5 min)
What did you bring with you today? We listen without rushing.
Main work (5–40 min)
You bring to mind a person or situation that grates against you. Together we look for what part of yourself is reflected there.
The guide does not declare. It stays in hypothesis — "could it be that ~?" — and lets you arrive at insight on your own.
Integration (40–50 min)
How do you carry what you met back into the day? At the close, a single question is left for you to live with.
How a Dream session unfolds
Free association · amplification · the compensatory hypothesis — the Jungian way of letting a dream speak, rather than telling it what it means.
Bringing the dream
Recall a recent dream — last night, last week — and write it down. Fragments and blurred images are welcome. You may paste a longer dream text directly.
Free association
What else does each image, figure, or place bring up for you? We follow without filtering.
Amplification
We consider what the image has meant across cultures and centuries — mother, serpent, water, house, road — drawing from the archetypal field Jung mapped.
The compensatory hypothesis
What might the unconscious be supplementing in the waking life? We hold this as a hypothesis, never a verdict.
Integration
How might the dream's hypothesis live, even slightly, in your day tomorrow?
30-Day Shadow Cards — one mirror a day
One card per day. Free by default. Optional AI Companion ($15) can be activated when you want daily responses.
29 archetypal cards
Mirror · Cellar · Inner Child · Persona · Self · Trickster · Serpent · Bridge · Garden · Hermit · Warrior · Lover — 29 Jungian archetypes drawn one at a time.
Cards drawn in the past 14 days are deprioritized so that the archetypes you meet stay varied.
8 questions per card
Each card carries 8 reflective questions. Meeting the same card again may surface a different one — on average, you encounter the same question about 1.5 times per year.
The day's question stays fixed across reloads, so you can return to the same seat throughout the day.
30-day synthesis — once free per cycle
When you've drawn 30 cards within a cycle, the Jungian AI offers a long-form synthesis (1,500–2,500 words). Reflections are optional but make the synthesis richer.
The synthesis is not auto-generated — you trigger it from the page when you're ready. Once received, you can reread it anytime.
🌒 AI Companion — daily responses ($15)
The 30-day cards are meaningful on their own. When you want a daily response to your reflections, you can activate the AI Companion.
| Free (default) | AI Companion — $15 / cycle |
|---|---|
| Daily card + question + reflection | Daily card + question + reflection |
| One free synthesis at cycle end | One synthesis at cycle end (deeper version) |
| — | Daily AI response to each reflection — 29 times |
1 payment = 30 AI responses (29 daily + 1 synthesis). Activity-based, not calendar-based — if you're busy and miss days, your credits don't expire.
Safety and privacy
Encryption at rest
Journal entries and session dialogue are stored with AES-256 column-level encryption. Administrators see only metadata, never the content.
Crisis presence
If risk signals appear, the conversation does not break. Instead of premature reassurance, the guide stays with you in that place. Crisis hotlines (your country's local line) are visible throughout the app.
Seven-day self refund
Unused sessions are refundable from your dashboard within seven days of payment.
A last word
This app is not magic.
Fifty minutes, attention, and your own honesty —
these are what give it meaning.
On the days you need a quick answer, do not open this.
Open it on the days you can stay.
